Alan was born in Glasgow and now lives in Charnwood, a beautiful part of the East Midlands.

He combines an active interest in sailing with marine painting and has many works in private collections. A number of his paintings have also been used on calendars and greeting cards.

Alan has exhibited with the Royal Society of Marine Artists at their annual exhibitions.

He has also had three one man shows, and has undertaken a number of commissions for yacht portraits and coastal scenes.
